Arataki Visitor Centre to Taumatarea Point loop in Waitakere Ranges


Trails: Waitakere Ranges Regional Park Arataki Visitor Centre car park – Beveridge Track – Mackies Rest – Exhibition Drive – Pipeline Road – Huia Road – Off Track to Taumatarea Point and return – Huia Road – Lower Nihotupu Dam Road – Pipeline Road – Pipeline Track – Slip Track – Arataki Visitor Centre – Nature Trails – Arataki Visitor Centre car park.

Caution: This loop was walked many years ago and the off track from Huia Rd to the Point is closed now.

Car Park: Yes. Arataki Visitor Centre car park. It’s about 25km and 30 minutes drive from Auckland city center.

The “Total Time” is my time in July which includes morning tea time and lunch time. That day was fine and the track was good. If you slow down to average 3.5 km/h plus 60 min stop then the total time will be around 6:15 hrs.
