Motutapu Island hiking tracks Auckland


Trails: Motutapu Island Home Bay Wharf – Rotary Centennial Track – Northern Junction – World War II Military Sites – Sandy Bay – Billy Goat Point via Pohutukawa Track – Waikarapupu Bay via Wetland Track – Wetland Track – Station Bay – back to Northern Junction via Wetland Track – part of  Motutapu Walkway – Home Bay Wharf.

Note: Windproof coat is necessary. Better walk in a nice sunshine day.

GPS: Home Bay wharf coordinates  “-36.767057, 174.932959“. The ferry oneway is about 35+ minutes from Auckland Ferry Terminal. Park your car at Auckland city downtown car park. Fullers ferry ticket go to Booking online

The “Total Time” is my time in November which includes morning tea time and lunch time and many photo shooting time. That day was fine and the tracks were good and easy. If you slow down to average 3.5 km/h plus 60 min stop then the total time will be around 6hrs.
