Onetai Valley Track and Rat’s Tooth in Coromandel Range


Trails: Onetai Valley Stream Track to Rat’s Tooth and return back by ridge track.

Caution: !!!Experienced trampers with good navigation skill only!!! Tracks are in private land and must get permission from the farm owner before you go in. Tracks are not managed by DOC and hence without orange marks. There are no junctions and tracks were found obviously lead to Te Hue as it was presented by some (old?) local information. Stream crossing: 32 times!

Car Park: Yes by the permission of farm owner.
Public Toilet: No

The “Total Time” is my time in April which includes morning tea and lunch time. That day was raining and the tracks were very slippery. If you slow down to average 2.5 km/h plus 60 min stop then the total time will be around 4:45 hrs..
