Trails: Franklin Road car park – go Mangakino Valley (Deans Track on guidepost and Dean Track on map, and Deam Track on DOC brochure) – Mangakino Pack Track – Mangakino Track (at junction of Dickey Flat Track) – Mountain Link Track (junction to County Road Track) – Karangahake Mountain Track (down left, if go to Summit, go up right) – View Point on Karangahake Mountain Track – County Road Track turn left – Scotsman Gully Track – Crown Tramway Track – Crown Track (starts from the Pumphouse footbridge according to DOC map) – Tunnel – junction of Dubbo 96 Track – Dickey Flat Campsite – Dickey Flat Track – Cross river (May impossible in winter or raining season) before the junction to Mangakino Track – Mangakino Pack Track – Deans Track – Franklin Road car park.
Car Park: Set “214 Franklin Rd, Waihi” or “-37.46143,175.78089” in your GPS. It’s about 135km and 1hr 45 minutes drive from Auckland city center.

The “Total Time” is my time in May which includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea time. That day was fine but some of track was wet and the river was cold and high and flowed fast. If you slow down to average 2.8 km/h plus 90 min stop then the total time will be around 12:15 hrs.

This is my longest cold day! We took wrong track at very begining that leads us a 30km 9.5hrs trek.
