This was done before, not in 2020.
Trails: Kauaeranga Valley Road until Wainora Campground – Cookson Kauri Walk to big kauri tree – Wainora tramping Track (closed since 2020?) – Orange Peel Corner – continue until to Karaka Track – return back to Orange Peel Corner – Track to both Booms Flat campsite and Whangaiterenga campsite (at half way, track to Booms Flat Campsite is closed since 2020?) – Whangaiterenga campsite – Kauaeranga Valley Road – Wainora Campsite car park.
Caution: Beyond the Cookson’s Kauri, track becomes muddy, slippery, steep and up-and-down (closed since 2020?). Seldom see the orange marks! Easy get lost!! Three times stream crossing! Be careful in wet weather!

The “Total Time” is my time in Aug which includes breaks and lunch time. That day was cloudy, windy, rainy and cold and the track was wet and muddy. If you slow down to average 2.5 km/h plus 60 min stop then the total time will be around 8.5 hrs.
