This loop track is about 5 hours in winter which starts at Piha Valley Track. About 1km on Piha Valley Track from car park turn left and cross the Piha stream then into McKenzie Track which is quite steep until the McKenzie Junction. Then take Quarry Track shortly come to the Forbes Track which goes down fast until the Centennial Track. Then walk the way to Home Track and cross stream at the Black Rock Dam. Keep on the Centennial Track when you pass the end of Piha Valley Track and challenge another steep hill until come to the Home Track. On Home Track, pick up the way to Piha Road then to the Marguerite Track which is quite muddy in winter. At end of Marguerite Track turn right into Kauri Grove Track which leads to a beautiful and long muddy track until on top of the Kitekite Falls. Take Connect Track and Kitekite Track back to carpark.
Trails: End of Glenesk Road carpark – Piha Valley Track – McKenzie Track – McKenzie Junction – Quarry Track – Forbes Track – Centennial Track (pass by Black Rock Dam) – Home Track – Marguerite Track – Kauri Grove Track – on top of the Kitekite Falls – Connect Track – Kitekite (Falls) Track – carpark.
Car Park: Yes. Set “Glenesk Road, Piha” in your GPS. Very end of Glenesk Road. It’s bout 1 hour drive from Auckland city center.

Would it be possible to use the last photo on this page (the one with the water fall) for a PC game about NZ insects?
We have various locations players can visit, one of them being the Piha Valley Track. We’d like to use this water fall as the main picture representing the location.
