Te Aroha Mountain Track


Trails: Te Aroha Domain and Information Center – Te Aroha Mountain Track (enter from left back of Hot Pools) – Whakapipi Lookout – Horsemans Track (short cut back to Domain) – Mt. Te Aroha summit – to Dog Kennel Flat from summit – Junction of to Tui Saddle and to Waiorongomai – Tui Saddle (junction to Mangakino Pack Track) – Tui Link Track – Tui Domain Track (past the junction of to Water Race Track and Tunakohoia Stream) – back to Te Aroha Domain car park.

Note: It’s safe to park your car just in front of the Information Center and ask for the local tracks map as there are many side tracks, short cuts and bike trails there. Always follow the Tui Domain Track if you take the loop. Don’t forget relax yourself after hard tramping by soaking in the Hot Pool!

Car Park: Yes. Just set “Te Aroha Domain, Te Aroha” in your GPS. It’s about 135km and 95 minutes drive from Auckland city center.

The “Total Time” is my time in September which includes morning tea time and lunch time. That day was cloudy and the track was wet. If you slow down to average 3.0 km/h plus 60 min stop then the total time will be around 6hrs.
