Trails: Lake Wainamu Track entrance car park on Bethells Road – Lake Wainamu Track – Sand Dunes track to the lake – Lake Wainamu Track – Houghton Track – Wainamu Junction – Wainamu Bush Track – downstream along Wainamu Stream – Lake Wainamu Track – car park.

Car Park: Yes. Set “224 Bethells Road, Bethells Beach” on you GPS. The car park is on the left side when just pass a bridge after the Tasman View Road entrance. It’s about 38km 35 minutes drive from Auckland city center.
Public Toilet: Yes (Go further 1km to the Bethells Beach Surf Life Saving Patrol car park)

Total distance: 10.58 km
Total climbing: 554 m
Average speed: 3.96 km/h
Total Time: 04:02:40

Difficulty Rating: 2.08 – E+
The “Total Time” is my time in January which includes morning tea time and lunch time. That day was fine and the track was good. If you slow down to average 2.5 km/h plus 60 min stop then the total time will be around 5:15hrs.

      Hi Ryan, Thanks your comment! I don’t think it’s good for trail running. Lake Wainamu Track is runable. Houghton Track is not. Wainamu Bush Track is runable. Downstream off track along Wainamu Stream is not.
